Lucas de los Santos

Lucas de los Santos plays as a central defensive midfielder for Defensor Sporting, where he currently contributes his skills in the 2025/2026 season. Standing at 182 cm and weighing 80 kg, he possesses a solid physical presence that aids in his defensive responsibilities. His right footed playstyle allows him to engage effectively in tackles and interceptions, which are crucial aspects of his role in protecting the backline. With 21 appearances this season, de los Santos has logged 1434 minutes on the pitch, indicating his importance to the team. His average rating of 6.39 reflects a steady but unspectacular performance level, suggesting that while he may not be a standout player every match, he is reliable in his duties. His ability to maintain possession and distribute the ball from deep positions is vital in transitioning play from defense to attack, facilitating his team’s overall strategy. Since joining Defensor Sporting from Puebla in 2025, de los Santos has settled into his role, demonstrating the capacity to adapt after several loan spells. He remains under contract until December 2026, allowing him the opportunity to further develop his game and solidify his position as a key figure in the midfield.
