Mateo Caballero

Mateo Caballero is an 18-year-old central defender currently playing for Defensor Sporting. In the ongoing 2025/2026 season, he has made nine appearances and has accumulated a total of 470 minutes on the pitch. His average rating of 6.45 indicates a solid, if not yet standout, presence in the defensive line. At this stage in his career, Caballero is still developing his skills and adapting to the demands of senior football. His role as a central defender requires him to be reliable and composed, contributing to his team's defensive stability. While he may not yet be a consistent match-winner, his youth and potential suggest that he is gaining valuable experience with each match he plays. Caballero's performances reflect his current status as a young player still finding his footing in the game. He is likely focused on improving his defensive skills, positioning, and decision-making to enhance his overall contribution to the team as he continues to grow in the sport. With a contract that extends until July 2028, he has the opportunity to further develop his talents at Defensor Sporting.
