Yan Couto

Yan Couto currently plays as a right back for Borussia Dortmund, where he showcases his abilities in both defensive and offensive roles. Standing at 168 cm and weighing 60 kg, he combines agility with speed, making him well-suited for the modern full-back position. His preferred right foot allows him to deliver accurate crosses and key passes, which he has demonstrated with four key passes this season. However, his average rating of 6.43 over eight appearances indicates that he has room for improvement in consistency and overall impact on games. In the current season (2025/2026), Couto has made eight appearances, logging 309 minutes on the pitch. He has contributed defensively with two tackles and five interceptions, showing his ability to read the game and break up opposition attacks. While his contributions have been modest, his skill set suggests potential for growth as he gains more experience in a competitive environment. Couto's recent transfer history reflects a journey through multiple clubs, including a loan spell at Borussia Dortmund before securing a permanent move from Manchester City. He is currently under contract until June 2030, indicating that the club sees him as a valuable asset for the future. As he continues to develop, there is an opportunity for him to solidify his role and make a more significant impact in the Bundesliga.
