Tyrelle Newton

Tyrelle Newton is a central defensive midfielder who currently plays for Gateshead. At 186 cm tall, he brings a physical presence to the midfield, which is essential for breaking up opposition plays and providing defensive cover. In the current season, he has made 10 appearances, contributing 566 minutes on the pitch, though his average rating of 6.37 indicates he is still finding his feet at this level. Despite being at the beginning of his professional career, Newton shows promise in his role. He is tasked with shielding the defense while also looking to initiate attacks from deep. His right foot allows him to pass effectively, though further development in his decision-making and positioning could enhance his impact on games. With a contract running until June 2026, Newton has time to grow and adapt to the demands of senior football. His journey from Luton Town U21 through various loan spells to Gateshead highlights a gradual progression, and he has the opportunity to establish himself as a key figure in the midfield as he gains experience in competitive match situations.
