Rubén Sánchez

Rubén Sánchez serves as a reliable right-back for Espanyol, showcasing his defensive capabilities and work rate across 28 appearances in the current season. At 185 cm tall and weighing 73 kg, he combines physical presence with agility, allowing him to effectively challenge opposing wingers and contribute to his team's defensive solidity. His average rating of 6.67 reflects his consistent performances, indicating he plays a steady role in the backline. While Sánchez has only registered one assist this season, his primary focus appears to be on defensive responsibilities rather than offensive contributions. His ability to read the game and position himself well allows him to disrupt the opposition's attacking flow. Additionally, his experience gained from multiple loan spells has equipped him with valuable match experience, which he brings to his current role. As a right-back, Sánchez is expected to balance defensive duties with the occasional foray into attack. His preferred right foot aids him in making accurate clearances and tackles, while also allowing him to support forward plays when necessary. With a contract running until June 2027, he has the opportunity to further develop his skills and solidify his position within the team.
