Phillip Tietz

Phillip Tietz operates primarily as a striker for FSV Mainz 05, utilizing his 190 cm height and 86 kg frame to challenge defenders physically and create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates. He is right-footed, which allows him to strike the ball with precision and power while positioning himself effectively inside the box. Tietz’s playing style is characterized by a blend of aerial prowess and ground play, evidenced by his ability to contribute not only with goals but also with key passes, totaling 17 this season. In the current 2025/2026 season, Tietz has made 32 appearances, scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists, showcasing his involvement in the attacking phase. His average rating of 6.65 indicates a steady, if not standout, performance level throughout the campaign. While he contributes defensively with 5 tackles and 6 interceptions, his primary focus remains on leveraging his size and positioning to impact the game in the final third. Having transitioned from FC Augsburg to FSV Mainz 05 in 2026 for a fee of €4 million, Tietz finds himself in a role that demands a mix of physicality and technical skill. As he continues to adapt to his current club, he aims to increase his goal tally and further establish himself as a key player in Mainz's attacking setup.
