Kiban Rai

Kiban Rai operates primarily as a left winger, bringing youthful energy and pace to the flank for Merthyr Town. At 172 cm, he combines agility with a low center of gravity, allowing him to navigate tight spaces and take on defenders effectively. In the current season, he has featured in 17 matches, showcasing his potential despite having scored just one goal. His average rating of 6.50 indicates a solid, if not standout, contribution to the team, reflecting a player still finding his feet at this level. Rai’s role on the wing involves stretching the opposition's defense and creating opportunities for his teammates. While his goal tally may not be impressive, his involvement in build-up play and ability to draw defenders can open up space for others. With 665 minutes of playing time this season, he is gradually adapting to the demands of the game at Merthyr Town, where he is on loan from Newport County after a brief stint at Aldershot Town. At just 20 years old, he is in a developmental phase of his career. His performances thus far suggest he is working on refining his decision-making and finishing, essential traits for a winger aiming to leave a mark in competitive football.
