Joseph Okumu

Joseph Okumu plays as a central defender, standing at an imposing 190 cm and weighing 75 kg, which gives him a physical advantage in aerial duels and defending against opposition forwards. He is right-footed, which is typical for a player in his position, allowing him to execute clearances and passes with his stronger foot. His playing style is characterized by his ability to read the game and make crucial tackles, although his current season stats indicate he has had limited opportunities to showcase these skills, with only one appearance and an average rating of 6.42 over 11 minutes of play. This season, Okumu has yet to make a significant impact at Reims, which may be a factor in his limited playing time. His transfer from Gent to Reims for €12.0 million suggests that he was seen as a valuable addition to the squad, reflecting a belief in his potential contributions. However, finding regular playing time will be crucial for him to build on his profile and assert himself further in the league. Okumu’s current situation appears to be one of adjustment as he looks to earn a more prominent role in the team. The upcoming months will be critical for him to establish himself within the squad and prove his worth as a reliable defender.
