Joe Gomez

Joe Gomez serves as a central defender for Liverpool, where he brings a solid physical presence to the backline at 188 cm and 77 kg. His right foot is preferred for tackling and distributing the ball, a skill set that complements his defensive duties. Gomez's ability to read the game is evident in his current season's statistics, which include 18 interceptions and 9 tackles across 41 appearances. His defensive contributions are crucial in maintaining team structure and thwarting opposition attacks. In the 2025/2026 season, Gomez has also shown an ability to contribute to offensive play, recording 2 assists and delivering 5 key passes. While his average rating of 6.50 indicates room for improvement, he remains a reliable option for Liverpool's defensive lineup, especially with his experience gained since joining the club in 2015 from Charlton Athletic. As he continues to develop in his role, Gomez's combination of physicality and tactical awareness positions him as a key player within Liverpool's squad. With his contract extending until June 2027, he looks poised to remain an integral part of the team's future plans.
