Iustin Popescu

Iustin Popescu serves as a reliable presence between the posts for Otelul. Standing at 188 cm, he combines his height with solid positioning, making him a formidable shot-stopper. With a left-footed preference, he demonstrates good distribution skills, which is crucial for initiating counter-attacks and maintaining possession from the back. In the current season, Popescu has made five appearances, averaging a rating of 6.65 over 397 minutes of play. This reflects his steady performance level, contributing to his team's defensive structure. While not overpowering, his experience at 32 years old brings valuable leadership to the squad, especially in high-pressure situations. Having transitioned to Otelul from Chindia Târgovişte in 2024, he has settled into his role, focusing on consistency and reliability. His ability to command the area and communicate effectively with defenders enhances the team's overall defensive capabilities. As he continues his contract until June 2026, he aims to solidify his standing as a dependable goalkeeper in the league.
