Benedikt Gimber

Benedikt Gimber operates primarily as a central defender, bringing a solid physical presence to Heidenheim's backline at 187 cm and 83 kg. His preferred left foot allows him to effectively manage the ball on that side of the defense, contributing to both defensive duties and the initiation of attacks. This season, he has made 29 appearances, accumulating an average rating of 6.50, highlighting his consistent involvement in matches. In terms of defensive contributions, Gimber has recorded 18 tackles and 15 interceptions, showcasing his ability to disrupt opposition plays and regain possession. However, his offensive output has been limited, with just one key pass to his name. This suggests that while he is reliable defensively, he may not be a significant threat going forward, focusing instead on maintaining stability at the back. Having joined Heidenheim from Jahn Regensburg in 2023, Gimber's current contract extends until June 2028, indicating the club's confidence in his abilities. His role remains crucial as he continues to adapt to the demands of the league, providing a dependable option in central defense.
