Alidu Seidu

Alidu Seidu plays as a central defender for Rennes, showcasing his skills in a position that demands both physicality and tactical awareness. Standing at 173 cm and weighing 68 kg, he combines agility with a solid defensive presence, making him effective in aerial duels and ground challenges despite his smaller stature. His right foot is his preferred option, allowing him to distribute the ball effectively from the back and contribute to his team's build-up play. In the current season (2025/2026), Seidu has made 25 appearances and has earned an average rating of 6.80. His defensive contributions include 7 tackles, 23 interceptions, and the ability to initiate transitions with 13 key passes. While he has only registered 1 assist, his role extends beyond just defending, as he frequently looks to support the attack when opportunities arise. Seidu's transition from Clermont to Rennes in 2024 for €11.0M highlights his growing reputation in the league. His performances indicate a player who is developing into a reliable option in central defense, capable of maintaining composure under pressure and contributing to both defensive solidity and offensive support. As he continues to adapt to this higher level of competition, Seidu's future in the league looks promising.
